To open the course settings menu:

1. Navigate to your course

2. Open the gear/cog icon in the top right-hand corner of the course homepage:

3. Once that menu is open, select Edit Settings:

4. Next, expand the Course format tab and choose a course format from the corresponding drop-down menu:

5. Depending on the course format you choose, you may be presented with additional formatting options related to the style.
6. When you are finished editing, do not forget to Save:
