1. Navigate to your course

2. Navigate to your course settings with the gear icon in the top right-hand corner

3. Select Edit Settings:

4. Once you are in the settings menu, scroll till you see a drop-down menu entitled Groups (expand this):

5. In that menu, select Group Mode and choose your desired setting:  

No groups = No groups in course

Separate groups = Group members cannot view people or activities outside of their group

Visible groups = Group members can see all students and the group that they belong to

6. Once you have this selected, scroll to the bottom and Save and Display:
