There is an efficient method for manually grading items (i.e. Essay questions) in Moodle.

1. Navigate to your course and select the quiz that you would like to grade:

2. Open the gear icon menu in the top right-hand corner of the quiz page and select Manual grading:

3. You will then see a list of questions. This list will display the question number, name, and grading status. Select the link under the To grade column for the item that you would like to grade:

4. You will then see a screen where you can review all of the student answers for that one question. You will also see spots where you can manually enter grades and feedback:

5. If you need to move on, select Save and go to next page:

6. You will then repeat this process for the remaining manually graded questions.
