Microsoft Authenticator for Apple
Step 1 - Download and install the Microsoft Authenticator app by either searching for it in your app store or accessing it through the above links.
Step 2 - If you are prompted to have the app send notifications, you will need to allow it. It should then prompt you to select what kind of account you have. Select "Work or school account." If you used the app for another reason you may need to select the "+" button at the top right to add your Trine account.
Step 3 – Click "Sign in" then either select your Trine email address (if listed) or hit "Use another account" and type in your Trine email and password.
Step 4 - You will be prompted to confirm identification with your phone number you've registered with your Trine account. If you do not have that set up yet or cannot, please contact IT Services and create a support ticket.
Step 5 - Once your account is connected you should see your Trine email listed. Click on it and you should see the following. Make sure both "Set up 2-step verification" and "Set up Passwordless sign-in requests" are under the "Ways to sign in or verify section." If they are not click on them and follow to prompts to set them up. It should just prompt you to sign-in again.
Note: If you are using an iPhone you may need to also click "Enable notifications from this app to get notifications for passwordless phone sign-in."
Step 6 - Everything is setup once your app looks like the right image. When signing in you have the option to use the app instead of your password. If you do use your password, you also have the options to multi-factor using the app or a verification code.
