Azure MFA Onboarding

Trine University's IT Services is pushing out a new two-factor authentication application to your account (Azure 2FA).

Azure 2FA will be replacing DUO. Azure is a Microsoft product that offers the same capabilities as DUO. You will still have the same authentication/login options, such as:

  1. Push notification (Azure requires a more secure two-digit number verification for the push)
  2. Text Message
  3. Phone Call
  4. In-app passcode

Please log into a Trine online system (i.e. Moodle, myPortal, or Webmail) and complete the Azure prompts before downloading and attempting to configure the Microsoft Authenticator application. The prompt upon login will walk you through the Azure registration process.

However, rather than within the DUO app, this will all be completed using Microsoft’s Authenticator application
**Please do not setup the application prior to enrollment** :

Microsoft Authenticator for Android

Microsoft Authenticator for Apple

Instructions for what to expect depending on your preferred authentication method are attached for your reference:

If you decide that you would like to change your authentication method, you can always revisit your two-factor authentication settings at the following site: https://aka.ms/mfasetup
